SSA UK works with schools and educators to ensure that school policies meet the safeguarding needs of all students, and that they do this whilst taking into account the protected characteristics of the Equality Act 2010. They aim to provide clarity on the law and offer evidence-based guidance and support where conflict between protected characteristics arises.
Their website hosts many useful factsheets and template letters looking at topics from how your child’s school is approaching your child from a safeguarding perspective, who your school use as external providers of PSHE lessons to the provision of single-sex changing facilities. Below we have listed some of the most relevant of these, but we’d encourage you to have a closer look for yourself, as we understand each parent finds themselves in unique circumstances, and SSA may well have information of specific use to you.
